The need for improved efficiency and higher quality in the clinical laboratory is driving the need for Lean implementation. The role of StatSpin centrifuges in providing rapid centrifugation is being recognised as part of this process.
For example, the StatSpin Express 4 is compact (taking up much less space than ‘traditional’ large batch centrifuges), this allows the centrifuge to be sited on the lab bench in the position required for optimum process flow, not sited a long way away down the corridor because it is too large/noisy. In addition the Express 4 allows smaller batches to be run with faster cycle times and faster test results. In addition to the faster cycle time on the Express 4, there is no time wasted as if often the case with larger batch centrifuges with longer cycle times, waiting for the cycle to finish, or waiting until it is full before processing. The StatSpin Express 4 is also extremely easy to use, once the samples are loaded and the cover closed, simply select the spin time and press the ‘Start’ button. |
